“The great gift of family life is to be intimately acquainted with people you might never even introduce yourself to, had life not done it for you”. Kendall Hailey
Families are very complex systems. In a family we act out different roles towards each member in the system (eg. mother, partner, child, grandchild, sibling and so on)
and therefore develop very complex connections and relationships. Most roles within the family structure are set for life.
Living a family life -especially with children- will often challenge us to an extent we would not have guessed could be possible. This is at least how i have experienced my own family life! Most people want to be a good partner and a good parent without loosing themselfs in that process. And this sounds easier than it is!
I offer coaching and consulting for all aspects of family life to establish healthy and co-constructive relationships between adults and between adults and children.
“My question has always been:
“Do we want to avoid conflicts, and have peace and quiet every day?
Or do we want children that are healthy, mentally healthy and psychosocially capable when they turn eighteen, nineteen, twenty?…So how does one accomplish this? Well, my experience has taught me that it starts with us learning how to say “No!” to others, in order to say “Yes!” to ourselves” Jesper Juuls
